Garden of Eden — Storytelling Book Illustration

A storytelling illustration for a religious book — a single wide scene designed to hold an entire narrative in one image.

It began with several written scene concepts supplied by the client, each with its own details and significance. The background and the individual elements were then illustrated separately and signed off one at a time, since every detail carried meaning for the client and had to fit into one coherent story. Only once all the pieces were approved and drawn were they brought together and composed into the finished scene — all illustrated by hand.
